Salsa At Brooklyn Basin – Brooklyn Basin, Oakland

About this event

Salsa at Brooklyn Basin is a recurring outdoor social dance event held on the boardwalk at Brooklyn Basin in Oakland, California (near 288 9th Ave). The gathering centers on community Latin dancing in an open-air waterfront setting. Because it takes place outdoors, the schedule is weather-dependent and last‑minute updates or cancellations are shared via the Facebook group “The Original Brooklyn Basin Boardwalk Salsa Dancing.” Typical hours shift seasonally to suit daylight and weather: winter afternoons often run earlier, summer sessions commonly run 2:00 pm–6:00 pm, and spring/fall dates may run 3:00 pm–7:00 pm. The boardwalk itself serves as the dance floor rather than a traditional stage, and the event functions as a community social rather than a formal performance. The series is organized by Liz St. Pauls; specific DJs, bands, or instructors are not consistently listed in the event postings.
