“Meet The Strings: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” is a sensory-friendly concert designed specifically for children ages 0–5. The production creates a welcoming and cozy environment where young audiences can experience the sounds of string instruments, including violins, violas, cellos, and bass. The performance encourages movement, singing, and active engagement, removing the expectation for children to sit still. The production is distinguished by its strong focus on accessibility and family support. Developed in partnership with the SDSU Center for Autism, the event offers specialized services including a designated quiet room, sensory kits available upon request, and social stories to help prepare children for the experience. Additionally, the event features pre-concert hands-on activities, such as crafts and instrument exploration, presented in collaboration with ChIMES, the early childhood music program of KeyNote/San Diego Youth Symphony.
