About this event
The Spreckels Organ Society Concerts are a historic and ongoing series of weekly performances held at the iconic Spreckels Organ Pavilion in Balboa Park, San Diego. The City of San Diego provides 52 Sunday concerts each year, maintaining the instrument and the Civic Organist position with the support of the Spreckels Organ Society, a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 1988. Performances are a relaxed, fun way to experience one of San Diego’s most recognizable cultural sites. Built in 1915, the pavilion houses the great Spreckels outdoor pipe organ, gifted to the City by John and Adolph Spreckels with a Deed of Gift stipulating that all concerts remain free to the public. The one-hour Sunday concerts take place year-round, rain or shine.
