About this event

This concert unites the legendary Argentine pianist Martha Argerich with the internationally sought-after soloist and pedagogue Jura Margulis. Argerich, renowned for her unconventional approach and magnetic artistry, values musical partnerships that bring deep joy and connection. Margulis is a familiar and celebrated figure for Freiburg audiences. A special highlight is Mussorgsky’s A Night on the Bare Mountain in a new arrangement for two pianos by Jura Margulis. The program spans classical, romantic, and 20th-century repertoire, showcasing the virtuosity, ensemble precision, and sonic color required in works for two pianos and piano four hands. Important note: Due to a scheduling conflict, the concert has been postponed from March 16, 2026 to October 18, 2026; previously purchased tickets remain valid for the new date.
