Rüdiger Baldauf's Trumpet Night is a crossover concert format that spotlights the trumpet’s versatility across Soul, Funk, Pop, Rock, and Jazz. Conceived and led by star trumpeter Rüdiger Baldauf—longtime member of the TV-Total band Heavytones—the show unites top guest vocalists and instrumentalists with a virtuosic core band. Rather than playing standard covers, the ensemble performs newly arranged versions of the guest artists’ original songs, adapted by Baldauf for a brass-forward sound. This fusion approach lets established pop and soul singers present their repertoire in an intense, freshly reimagined acoustic setting. The focus is the interplay between featured soloists and a high-caliber rhythm-and-brass lineup, creating a genre-bridging sound world that underscores the trumpet’s expressive and stylistic range.
