About this event

Benedikt Mitmannsgruber’s third program, “1996,” is dedicated to his two parents and four grandparents who, despite a difficult upbringing at the end of the world with few prospects, shaped him into the person he is today. The show is a homage to growing up in the middle of nowhere, a love letter to forgotten backwaters, and a journey into his own past. It offers a quirky look at our society and at a world that has gone off the rails. The staging is led by director Jürgen Marschal. The visual identity and press photos are by photographer Anna Sophie Kölbl.
