In his solo piece "GLEICH," Alfred Dorfer artfully blends reality and fantasy. What begins as a classic solo set unfolds into an absurd, intellectual playground of characters, time layers, and shifting perspectives. Dorfer slips nimbly into a range of roles—from a grandmother and barkeepers to bears, carp and sunflowers. The staging plays with narrative detours and temporal leaps, allowing time levels to blur into one another. Poetry and wordplay meet philosophy and imagination as Dorfer, a keen observer of everyday life, skewers social currents with generous self-irony. Avoiding conventional politician-bashing, the piece focuses instead on deeper societal questions.
