As the saying goes: better to inherit for 30 minutes than work for 30 years. Inka Meyer has inherited quite a lot from her grandmother: alongside sparkling eyes and quick wit, unfortunately also an immune system that is rather pacifist in its fight against illness. For half her life, the cabaret artist has been shooting like a comet through the solar and health systems—thumbing a ride from one doctor’s office to the next. That’s how it is: our fate often lies in our genes. If you have no children, your children will also have no children. What can you do? Life springs from a single cell and sometimes ends in one. Can you ever escape your own family tree? Yes! “Because anyone who doesn’t believe in miracles isn’t a realist,” is Meyer’s determined credo!
