Field Commander C. – The Songs of Leonard Cohen runs two distinct touring programs. While the “Tour of 1979” features a large ten‑piece ensemble recreating Cohen’s late‑70s live sound, this production is titled “Early works – The roots of Hallelujah.” It uses an intimate, stripped‑down lineup to explore the foundations of Cohen’s career, focusing exclusively on his first four studio albums. Arrangements are acoustic‑forward and melancholic, with guitar, violin, cello, organ, and accordion. Led by musician and film producer Rolf Ableiter, the performance interweaves music and storytelling, offering anecdotes and historical context between songs. The aim is an authentic homage to Cohen’s art rather than an imitation tribute act.
