Verwirren Ist Menschlich – Capitol Theatre, Salt Lake City

About this event

Verwirren ist menschlich (To confuse is human) is the fifth stage program by cabaret artist and poetry slammer Philipp Scharrenberg. Blending cabaret with what he calls “tender mindfucks,” it tackles disinformation and self‑deception in contemporary society. Winner of the 2023 German Cabaret Prize (Program Prize), Scharrenberg uses linguistic virtuosity to untie the “Gordian knots in our heads.” Eschewing the usual “them‑up‑there” stance, he focuses on a “we‑down‑here” perspective. As a self‑styled “de‑illusionist,” he explores our psychic motives with physical presence, wit, and heart. The evening also ties in with his book “Offiziell verrufenes Buch.”
