Herbert Pixner Projekt - Tour 2026 – Christuskirche Bochum, Bochum

About this event

On the 2026 Tour, the Herbert Pixner Projekt showcases its signature cross-genre instrumental style, refined over more than two decades on stage. The production deliberately resists traditional categorization, fusing Alpine folk roots with elements of flamenco, gypsy jazz, blues, rock, and world music. At its core is a quintet sound palette: diatonic accordion and brass/woodwinds meet layered guitar textures, grounding bass, and the tonal expansion of harp and concert grand piano. This instrumentation enables a wide dynamic range from minimalist, melancholic passages to powerful, rock-leaning outbursts. The stage presentation emphasizes technical precision and a strong spirit of improvisation. Rather than relying on visual effects, the production focuses on the ensemble’s musical interaction and the creation of atmospheric soundscapes that guide the audience through unexpected stylistic turns.
