Scala 30 – Kongress und TheaterHaus, Bad Ischl

About this event

SCALA 30 is a milestone concert production celebrating the 30th anniversary of the internationally acclaimed Belgian women’s choir Scala & Kolacny Brothers. Led by pianist-arranger Steven Kolacny and conductor Stijn Kolacny, the ensemble is known for ethereal, classical-choral reinterpretations of rock, indie, and alternative songs. The anniversary program looks back across three decades of the choir’s unique sound world, bringing atmospheric vocal textures supported by piano to major cultural venues across Europe. Designed for touring, the production adapts flexibly to diverse spaces—from industrial halls like the Werkhalle at KUZ Mainz to traditional theater stages such as Theaterhaus Stuttgart. The musical direction centers the pure vocal sonority of the choir, shaped by Steven’s piano writing and Stijn’s choral leadership. The tour, launched in 2026, extends into 2027, highlighting Scala’s enduring impact at the intersection of choral tradition and contemporary popular music.
