About this event
A large-scale multimedia symphonic event built around Julia Wolfe’s powerful oratorio Fire in my mouth. The evening opens with the Netherlands premiere of Samy Moussa’s Nocturne and culminates in Wolfe’s monumental work, also receiving its Netherlands premiere. With 80–85 musicians and the voices of Nationale Koren, the performance unfolds as an immersive memorial that blends orchestral sound with striking visual and theatrical elements. Directed by Anne Kauffman with production design by Jeff Sugg, the staging transforms the concert experience into a vivid, reflective narrative. The result is a deeply moving encounter where music, image, and memory converge to confront past tragedy and present-day resonance.
