About this event

This is a new Teatro alla Scala production of Verdi's Otello, conducted by Myung-Whun Chung and staged by Damiano Michieletto. The production opens the 2026–2027 opera season and marks Chung's first season as Music Director; Michieletto makes his debut as director of a La Scala opening-night performance. The production team includes Paolo Fantin for sets, Carla Teti for costumes, Alessandro Carletti for lighting, and Mattia Palma for dramaturgy. The Teatro alla Scala Orchestra and Chorus participate in the production.
