Seoul Arts Center’s signature matinée series, Saturday Concert, has been revamped from 2026 to a 5:00 p.m. Saturday time. The change aims to let a broader audience enjoy classical music naturally in daily life, refreshing the long-running series and expanding audience reach. The 2026 theme is “2026 Preview: Beethoven,” anticipating the 200th anniversary of Beethoven’s death in 2027 by spotlighting his world through in-depth symphonic and concerto repertoire. The concerts retain an explained format in which the conductor offers commentary on background and musical features. Supported by IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, the series also runs outreach programs inviting underserved communities, expanding access and contributing to social value through cultural sharing.
