The Carreño-Quartett presents a program dedicated to the often-overlooked contributions of female composers to the genre of the string quartet. The performance aims to bring these remarkable voices to life, making rarely performed works audible to a modern audience. The production spans several centuries, featuring musical treasures from the 18th century through to the present day. By juxtaposing historical works with contemporary compositions, the quartet offers a fascinating insight into the diversity and enduring quality of female-led compositions that have frequently remained hidden in the classical canon.
