Music Director Eun Sun Kim returns to the podium to lead the San Francisco Opera Orchestra in a sumptuous evening dedicated to the works of Richard Strauss. The concert will feature the highly descriptive tone poem Till Eulenspiegel's Merry Pranks, Op. 28, which brought Strauss early sensation. Also included are the Brentano Lieder, Op. 68, one of Strauss's most significant sets of songs, with soprano Adela Zaharia as the vocal soloist. The program will conclude with the U.S. debut of a new arrangement of selections from Der Rosenkavalier, Op. 59, arranged by Philippe Jordan and Tomáš Ille. This one-night-only concert follows two seasons of sold-out performances led by Kim.
