Giuseppe Verdi’s early opera Nabucodonosor (Nabucco) is presented at Teatro Regio di Parma as a new production for Festival Verdi 2026. Francesco Lanzillotta conducts the critical edition prepared by Roger Parker. Pier Luigi Pizzi signs direction, sets, costumes, and lighting, unifying the stage vision. The principal cast features Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar (Nabucodonosor), Lidia Fridman (Abigaille), Michele Pertusi (Zaccaria), Ben Reisinger (Ismaele), and Laura Verrecchia (Fenena). The Orchestra del Teatro Comunale di Bologna and the Coro del Teatro Regio di Parma perform, with Martino Faggiani as chorusmaster. A co-production between Teatro Regio di Parma and Teatro Comunale di Bologna, the performances are sung in Italian with surtitles in Italian and English.
