Orchestral Symphony Concert
Conductor Hannu Lintu, who led the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra in a successful 2024 collaboration, returns to present a program of increased variety and color. This concert series showcases the orchestra's dynamic range, moving from a contemporary opening to two iconic large-scale works from the late-Romantic and 20th-century repertoires. The first half explores narrative and character: Unsuk Chin's Operascope sets a modern orchestral stage, followed by Richard Strauss's tone poem Don Quixote, in which the solo cello represents Don Quixote and the solo viola embodies Sancho Panza. The second half features selections from Sergei Prokofiev's ballet Romeo and Juliet, highlighting dance-inflected, vivid storytelling through music for a dramatic and lyrical conclusion.
