Ready, Set, Listen! The Planets is a 30-minute interactive concert created by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra for children aged 0–5 and their families. Performed in the Studio at the Sydney Opera House, the event offers a relaxed, welcoming space with comfortable floor seating that encourages little ones to listen, move and explore sound. The format goes beyond a traditional concert to create an engaging first experience of live classical music. A small ensemble of Sydney Symphony musicians performs a specially adapted version of Holst’s The Planets, guided by presenter and children’s entertainer Emily Who, who leads the audience through the music with playful storytelling and interactive moments. The program is designed to spark curiosity, imagination and a lifelong love of music, and is also offered in a schools version tailored to Kindergarten–Year 2.
