About this event

Sacred Concert is a special event that places tradition and contemporary creation in dialogue within the atmospheric setting of Novara Cathedral. The program pairs a newly commissioned sacred work by David Winkler (world premiere) with Lorenzo Perosi’s Transitus animae in a new version for small orchestra. Produced by the Fondazione Teatro Carlo Coccia in collaboration with the Orchestra Antonio Vivaldi, the concert also features the Schola Cantorum San Gregorio Magno di Trecate. A strong educational dimension is present: the arrangement of Transitus animae was created by the composition course of the Accademia AMO, offering a fresh perspective on a historical piece. Conducted by Vito Clemente with mezzo-soprano Giorgia Gazzola as soloist, the event blends discovery of the new with the rediscovery of the past, highlighting the sacred atmosphere and the choral-orchestral forces.
