Masterpiece: Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique – De Oosterpoort, Groningen

Masterpiece is a compact festival created by SPOT Groningen and the Noord Nederlands Orkest (NNO). For this fourth edition, the entire De Oosterpoort becomes an immersive discovery tour centered on a single iconic work: Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique. Visitors assemble their own route through workshops and short presentations that illuminate the composer, the score, and its time from different angles—ideal for both first-time listeners and seasoned concertgoers. The evening concludes with a complete performance of the symphony by the NNO in the main hall. Seating is unassigned (vrije zitplaatsen).
