About this event
This event is part of the Berlin Philharmonic’s traditional residency in Baden-Baden. In addition to the large symphonic concerts, the musicians appear in more intimate chamber formations. The concert takes place in the historic Weinbrennersaal of the Kurhaus, a venue with a rich musical history where Clara Schumann, Johannes Brahms, and Johann Strauss once performed. The Pangaea Trio Berlin, made up of members of the Berlin Philharmonic, dedicates this program to late Romanticism and early Modernism. The focus is on a “golden era” of music history, contemporaneous with works like Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. From this historical vantage point, the program looks both back into the past and forward into the future.
