About this event
Finnish musician Olli Mustonen—renowned as conductor, pianist, and composer—returns. Possessing extraordinary talent, he received the prestigious Hindemith Prize in 2019, an honor previously awarded to Daniel Barenboim. In this concert he will take on three roles: composer, pianist, and conductor. In addition to presenting his own Triptyque, he leads Beethoven’s “Emperor” Piano Concerto from the keyboard, and in the second half conducts Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 3 “Scottish,” of which Mustonen says: “Like a great forest, no matter how often you visit it, the listener discovers new surprises in its original details.”
